Privacy policy

1. Who we are

Canvas Backdrops operates www.canvasbackdrops.net from Dr. Busia Highway, Accra, Ghana. This policy explains how we use personal information when you browse, create an account, rent or purchase items, download digital products, submit reviews or contact us.

2. Information we collect

• Contact and account details, such as your name, email address, telephone number and delivery address.
• Order, rental, invoice, receipt and payment records, including items selected, amounts, payment references, pickup or delivery schedules, returns and cancellation requests.
• Messages, support enquiries and information you provide when reporting a problem.
• Review details, including your display name, rating, headline, comment and email address.
• Security and technical information needed to operate the website, such as network, browser and session information.
• Browsing and purchase activity where analytics is enabled, as explained below and in our cookie policy.

3. Why we use it

We use information to manage accounts, process payments and orders, arrange pickup, delivery and returns, provide digital downloads, issue invoices and receipts, handle cancellations and store credit, moderate reviews, answer enquiries, prevent fraud and keep business records. Optional analytics helps us understand demand and improve the website. Advertising measurement is used only when you enable that setting.

Processing may be necessary to fulfil your order, meet legal obligations or protect legitimate business interests. Where processing depends on your consent, you can withdraw it.

4. Payments

Payments are processed through Paystack and the payment methods it supports. We receive transaction details needed to confirm and reconcile payments. Do not send us card security codes, payment passwords or Mobile Money PINs. Payment providers handle the payment credentials entered through their own payment flow under their privacy terms.

5. Communications and delivery

We use your email address for account, order and service messages. Optional WhatsApp order updates require your permission and can be withdrawn; email remains the fallback. Agreeing to operational updates does not mean agreeing to marketing.

Where delivery is arranged, the courier or delivery service receives the contact, address and order information needed for that delivery. Uber, Bolt, Yango and other providers also have their own privacy terms.

6. Reviews

Approved reviews may publicly show your display name, rating, headline, comment and review date. Your review email address is not displayed publicly. Guest reviews are moderated before publication. Please do not include private contact details or other sensitive information in a public review.

7. Browsing activity and your choices

Analytics is currently enabled by default. You can switch it off at any time through Cookie preferences in the website footer, or choose Essential only. Advertising is off unless you enable it.

When analytics is enabled and you are signed in, we record public pages viewed, visit time, device category, browser, operating system and approximate city and country derived from your internet connection. Authorized Studio administrators can view these visits alongside the name, email and phone on your account. Our retention process removes the account association from visit records older than 90 days. We do not collect precise GPS location for this analytics feature or attach earlier anonymous visits to your account.

Turning analytics off stops new optional analytics collection from that browser. It does not erase past records or records necessary to fulfil your orders.

8. Who receives information

Access is limited to staff and service providers who need information for their role. These include payment, website hosting, data storage, email and messaging providers, delivery services and, when enabled, analytics or advertising providers. We may disclose information where required by law or necessary to investigate fraud, resolve disputes or protect rights.

Some providers may process information outside Ghana. Applicable data protection requirements and provider safeguards govern that processing. We do not sell customer personal information.

9. Retention and security

We retain information for as long as needed for its purpose, including fulfilling orders, supporting rentals, resolving disputes and meeting accounting or legal obligations. Closing an account or withdrawing optional consent does not automatically remove records we must retain. The 90-day account association limit above applies to browsing records, not all business records.

We use access controls and security measures to protect information. No website or transmission method can guarantee absolute security. Contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized account access.

10. Your privacy rights

Subject to applicable Ghanaian data protection law, you may request access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate details, or deletion where retention is no longer required. You may withdraw consent or object to processing where applicable. We may verify your identity before responding to protect your information.
